Jimmy Butler近日被交易至金州勇士队，因为当时开始放话对热火造成伤害，在本赛季曾三度遭到球队禁赛，最后Butler最终向热火提出交易请求。 Butler与热火的球员及教练团仍然保持深厚情谊，他在近日受访时表示，当他在3月25日随勇士作客迈阿密时，这场比赛对他而言将「别具意义」。 在接受杜拜Virgin Radio《The Kris Fade Show》访问时，Butler表示：「这感觉很棒，因为我了解他们的打法，他们同样熟悉我的风格。但这就是爱。我在迈阿密并肩作战了六个赛季，就像我告诉所有人那样，他们想击败我和勇士，而对我来说，这场比赛同样是个人的。」 Butler强调依然尊重热火队：「我热爱那里的每个人，热火是一支伟大的球队。事情的结局或许不是大家所期望的，但这就是篮球的生意，我对这支球队没有任何恶意。」
