根据《HoopsHype》记者Michael Scotto报导，夏洛特黄蜂队已与老将控卫Elfrid Payton达成第二份10天短约。
黄蜂队近期控卫人手短缺，在本月交易截止日前将Vasilije Micic送至凤凰城太阳后，后场轮换变得更为吃紧。Tre Mann因背伤缺席大部分赛季，而LaMelo Ball则因脚踝问题时常缺阵。
Elfrid Payton是2014年选秀的首轮第10顺位，他在首份10天合约期间为黄蜂出赛两场，场均贡献2分、5.5助攻、2.5篮板，平均上场27.5分钟。
本赛季稍早，他曾短暂效力于因伤兵潮严重的纽奥良鹈鹕，出战七场比赛，场均可得6.7分、6.9助攻、3.4篮板。
由于黄蜂队获得伤病特例，允许阵容暂时超过15人上限，因此无需裁员即可签下Elfrid Payton。值得注意的是NBA规定球队最多只能与同一球员签两份10天合约，因此当Elfrid Payton的合约到期后，若黄蜂希望留下他，必须提供正式合约。
The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a second 10-day deal with Elfrid Payton, his agent Darrell Comer told @hoopshype. Payton has averaged 5.7 points, 6.6 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 22.1 minutes in nine combined games with the New Orleans Pelicans and Hornets this season.
