当谈到自己与Doncic的关系时，Irving在採访中说道：
「Luka是一个很纯真的孩子，同时他也极具天赋，整个世界都暴露在他面前所以我们想要保护他。因为我觉得有时人们会疯狂地攻击他，这完全没有必要 所以我的目标就是保护他，这也是我们的关系比篮球更重要的原因。」
